Deploy from GitHub

Connect one repository with a token you scope yourself. No GitHub App, no organization-wide access.

Token

Create a fine-grained personal access token on GitHub limited to the one repository, with Contents: read, Metadata: read and Webhooks: read and write. Launchbase stores it encrypted, uses it to download commits and manage one webhook, and never shows it again. Rotate it on GitHub any time and reconnect.

What happens

  1. Connect (Deployments tab, PUT /api/v1/apps/{id}/repo or connect_github): repository and branch are checked, a push webhook is installed at https://launchbase.build/webhooks/github/{appId}.
  2. Each push to the branch creates a verified source version and a release github-<sha>; .env, .git and node_modules are dropped, rootDir is honoured.
  3. Deploy on request with deploy_from_github; disconnect removes the webhook and retires the token.
