Docs / Files & tasks
Files & background tasks
Store uploads. Run work behind the scenes.
File storage
Private files that survive deployments and app pauses.
- Free trial
- 1 GB
- Launch
- 5 GB
- Grow
- 25 GB
- Scale
- 100 GB
At the limit, new uploads stop. Existing files stay available. Delete files or upgrade the app for more space.
Background tasks
Workers run continuously. Scheduled tasks run at the times you choose.
- Share the app’s Hosting allowance
- Stop when the app pauses or hosting is blocked
- Node.js, Python and Dockerfile support
- Build and runtime logs for your agent
Use a durable database queue for jobs that need retries. Task hosting does not add retry logic to your code.
Add files with your agent
- Enable file storage with
configure_file_storage. - Run
configure_app_runtime, then redeploy. - Add backend routes to upload, finalize and download files.
Keep LB_RUNTIME_TOKEN server-only. Your backend checks who owns each file before creating upload or download links.
Deploy a task
Call deploy_task with a verified source version and the command to run.
{
"appId": "YOUR_APP_ID",
"name": "daily-report",
"sourceId": "YOUR_SOURCE_ID",
"startCommand": "python daily_report.py",
"schedule": "0 9 * * *",
"requestId": "daily-report-001"
}This example runs daily at 09:00 UTC. Omit schedule for a continuous worker. Scheduled code must finish and exit; overlapping runs are skipped.
