Attach a domain you own
- Attach the hostname (Domains tab or
attach_domain). Launchbase gives you one TXT record to prove ownership. - Verify (
verify_domain). Launchbase creates the hosting route and gives you the exact DNS records: a CNAME (or A/AAAA at the apex) and the hosting verification TXT. - Refresh (
refresh_domain) until DNS has propagated and the certificate is issued. The app origin and sign-in URLs are re-wired automatically; create one new release so the app uses the new origin.
Detaching removes the route and leaves your registrar untouched.
Buy a domain
- Quote (
quote_domains): live availability and price, registrar cost with no Launchbase markup, shown before you authorize. - Top up the prepaid balance if needed (
create_topup, owner completes it). - Request checkout (
authorize_domain_purchase) with the app ID and domain. Open the returned link or share it with the owner. If no card is saved, the link leads to card setup first. The owner enters registration details and confirms the purchase in Launchbase. - DNS and TLS are configured automatically in the zone Launchbase controls; DNS propagation and certificate issuance may take several minutes and the app is re-wired.
Registrations are non-refundable. Renewals are separate purchases at the quoted price; a saved card is never authorization.
